What bob stores

Whatever you give it: chat messages, captures, moods, food and workout logs, journals, reminders, photos and voice notes you send, plus what bob learns from those (facts, notes, summaries, insights). Also your email address, display name, plan, and usage records (model calls and their cost). Everything lives in Cloudflare’s infrastructure (database and file storage), encrypted at rest.

Who processes your text

bob’s replies are generated by large-language-model providers acting as processors: DeepSeek (chat and reasoning, via API) and Cloudflare Workers AI (photo understanding, voice-to-text, and bob’s spoken voice). The parts of your messages needed to answer you are sent to them per request. No advertising, no selling data, no analytics trackers.

How long things are kept

Raw chat older than about 3 months is deleted automatically — bob keeps what it learned (summaries, facts, trackers), not the transcript. Photos and voice recordings are deleted right after bob extracts what they contain; the extracted text or numbers stay. Usage numbers are kept as your billing record. Your consent record (which Terms you agreed to, and when) is kept as evidence of that consent.

Crisis content

Messages flagged as crisis are stored but excluded from bob’s learning and from exports, and bob replies only with safety resources — see the Terms.

Your controls

Profile → Privacy & data: export a full copy of everything, wipe your data (that keeps your sign-in and your consent record), or delete your account entirely — right in the app. Deleting your account removes your data, your sign-in, and your consent record.

If something goes wrong

If there’s ever a data breach affecting you, you’ll be notified at your account email — that’s part of why bob stores it.
